Four week course: 6th/13th/27th October 2025 and 3rd November 2025
It is suitable for beginners who would like to learn new skills in Pottery.
The Pottery Starter Course will be enjoyable, friendly and help students further their learning.
Participants will:
- Learn and practise basic pottery techniques (e.g. coil, pinch, slab)
- Create simple pottery pieces using hand-building methods
- Understand basic tools, materials, and safe working practices
- Gain confidence in working creatively and sharing with others
- Reflect on the personal benefits of creative activity for mental well-being
- Identify progression opportunities, such as further creative courses or volunteering
Our courses are FREE to Somerset residents who can evidence that their annual income is below £25k or in receipt of benefits. This is important to note as we are targeting people who may face challenges financially or with health and well-being. For learners who are not eligible for free courses, there will be a charge of £142.00
