This four-week course starts on 4th November 2025 and runs until 25th November 2025
This Journaling course aims to introduce learners to creative journaling as a tool for well-being. You will build confidence in using drawing and reflective writing techniques and learn mindfulness techniques. You will be outdoors in Heads Up garden using nature as inspiration. The sessions will support social interaction through shared creative practices.
Learners will:
- Use simple drawing and writing techniques to reflect on experiences
- Begin to connect nature with emotional well-being
- Create a personal journal using visual and written expression
- Participate in group conversations to build social confidence
- Identify areas of personal growth and interest in further learning
- Create in the outdoors in the Heads Up garden
“Engage your senses to describe the sight, sounds, smells and textures of your surroundings, Focus on details, like a tiny ecosystem under a leaf or the lines on a single leaf, or observe larger patterns like cloud shapes or changing landscapes. Using prompts, write about emotions the colours evoke, imagine conversations with nature, or reflect on your connection to the place, and incorporate sketches, rubbings, doodles, textiles or photos to deepen your experience.’’
Entry Requirements
Starter – This course/workshop is suitable if you’re a beginner and want to learn about this subject, and you don’t have relevant knowledge or experience.
Our courses are FREE to Somerset residents who can evidence that their annual income is below £25k or in receipt of benefits. This is important to note as we are targeting people who may face challenges financially or with health and well-being. For learners who are not eligible for free courses, there will be a charge of £161.00
