To support emerging artists identify their goals and build confidence in managing their creative practice professionally.
This course will
- Introduce key skills needed to start a small creative business
- Support emerging artists in identifying their goals and building confidence in managing their creative practice professionally
- Raise awareness of marketing, finance, and self-employment essentials
Learners will:
- Define their creative practice and identify short- and long-term business goals
- Understand different ways to market and sell creative work (e.g. Etsy, exhibitions, social media)
- Learn how to create professional invoices and track income and expenses
- Gain awareness of self-employment basics, including tax and registering a business
- Reflect on ways to manage stress and maintain well-being as a creative entrepreneur
- Identify next steps such as further enterprise training, peer networks, or mentoring opportunities
Our courses are FREE to Somerset residents who can evidence that their annual income is below £25k or in receipt of benefits. This is important to note as we are targeting people who may face challenges financially or with health and well-being. For learners who are not eligible for free courses, there will be a charge.
