This course is suitable for beginners who would like to learn new skills in cooking healthy meals and desserts.
It will be enjoyable, friendly and help you further your learning.
You will:
- To gain confidence to cook a meal from scratch
- To be confident to swap and substitute ingredients
- To make healthier choices when making food
- Gain confidence trying new recipes and ingredients
- Prepare a variety of seasonal, affordable recipes
- Use kitchen tools and follow food safety practices
- Reflect on their food habits and wellbeing
- Engage socially in group tasks and discussions
- Identify next steps for further learning or volunteering
Our courses are FREE to Somerset residents who can evidence that their annual income is below £25k or in receipt of benefits. This is important to note as we are targeting people who may face challenges financially or with health and well-being. For learners who are not eligible for free courses, there will be a charge.
